Is this a post hole auger. This is only a guess, never actually used one, we had to dig our posts in by hand tools

It looks like some kind of auger, perhaps for post holes, or if smaller, than is it an auger for planting bulbs?

I was going to say it’s an auger of some kind, but the others have beaten me to it. If it’s not, we’re all going to look pretty silly.
For the sake of saying something different, I’m going to say it’s a trepanning device for chronically depressed cows.

I think it is a tool to dig holes for fence posts. Have we had the answers to farming implement 1 or farming implement 2 yet?

I reckon its a grain conveyor - to carry grain from one pile to another pile. It works like an archimedes screw. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archimedes%27_screw
