December’s Photograph Of The Month Competition Winner

The winner of the Farming Friends “Foto” of the Month Competition for December is Jane, so well done Jane a gift will be on it’s way to you very soon.

Winter Fungi

Jane from Urban Extension took this photograph of some gorgeous fungi taken in December 2007 in a local wood in Corfe Mullen, Dorset. Jane said, “I just loved the way it was so creamy white and knobbly, contrasted against the red/brown winter leaves on the ground.” Thanks Jane this is a real fungi treat!

The Farming Friends judge found December’s photograph competition particularly hard as they felt that all the photographs were excellent. Farming Friends would like to thank Rebecca and Helen for their entries.

Full Irish BreakfastThis piggy photograph really made me laugh - what a great entry from Rebecca @ Irish Sally Garden. These are Rebecca’s two gloucestershire old spot pigs. They are 5 months old and very heavy! Rebecca knows that because one of them stood on her foot yesterday. She told me that she is going to ask santa for steel toe cap boots! These pigs are two organically reared, rare breed lads free ranging in part of their oak woods. They are big softies, they love to roll over to have their tummies rubbed.

Stone Creek In December

This photograph was taken by Helen from Sunk Island and it shows Stone Creek in December.  The sun shimmering on the tide with the silhouettes of the boats creates a beautiful image.
