    Thanks for your comments on my Blog, particularly my Grandfathers saying about—A WET AND WINDY DAY. FILLS THE BARNS WITH CORN AND HAY–We must remember that this was in the days when the only fertilizer was mainly cow muck and the soil had to respond more to the natural elements, and I do believe I read that a good Thunder Storm was the equivalent of Two hundred weights of Nitro-Chalk to the acre
