Hi Sara
I've just been given a huge basket of damsons from a friend. I was only going to make jam, but after seeing all the delectable recipes here I wish I had more damsons so I could try them all!
Happy cooking...

Hi Leonie,
Damson gin sounds good. I have made sloe gin before but not damson. The Cottage Smallholder is a fabulous site for lots of great recipes. I have even had the privilege of tasting their jams and chutneys as we took part in the interblog guinea fowl project together.
Thanks again for your suggestions.

Damson gin is very nice, even better than sloe gin. Visit this website, there are loads of inspiring recipes to be found, here's one to start with - Damson Chutney (http://www.cottagesmallholder.com/?p=70)

Hi Wildlife Gardener,
Thanks for your advice about the damsons. I'm glad you like my pig's tail post and Alice's guest appearance. Thanks for your visit and comments.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for the compliments you left :)

I have been trawling through yours today. RE damsons...make a little of each, if you have plenty...variety is the spice of life :)

Loved the story of the pig's tail! Alice's story was great too. I was transported back in time. I remember the scene so well from my youth.

What an interesting read :)
