Farm Animals
Which is your favourite farm animal?
This was the poll that farmingfriends has been running for the past two months.
The categories included cattle, chickens, sheep, guinea fowl, pigs, ducks, goats, horses, geese and turkeys.
In a 2 month period 145 people voted - thanks to everyone who voted.
The results were as follows;
Cattle = 25 votes.
Chickens = 16 votes.
Sheep = 12 votes.
Guinea Fowl = 7 votes.
Pigs = 22 votes.
Ducks = 12 votes.
Goats = 11 votes.
Horses = 32 votes.
Geese = 3 votes.
Turkeys = 5 votes.
The most popular farm animal was the horse and the least popular farm animal was the goose. I could have predicted geese being the least favourite but I would not have predicted the horse as the favourite.
Let me know your opinion about the results of this poll and whether you agree with the voting.

Sara
When I voted for the horse, I had in mind the Draft horse as described in the Web Site above, I believe the voting would have been distorted because of the close relationship some people have with the riding horse which of course is used for pleasure.
Any way Sara you will be pleased that the Pig came near the top of the poll,especially as you have just played midwife to your two Saddle Backs. Hope that all the Piglets are doing fine, how did the one go on that you were bottle feeding

Hi Farmer Giles,
It would be interesting to know how many voted for the horse of today and how many voted for farming horses of the past. I think I will try to write a post about the job of the horse on the farm in the past. I may need your help.
Thanks for your interesting comments and regular visits. Sara @ farmingfriends

I thinks horses are great but didn’t vote for them because I don’t think of them as farm animals.
I have ducks, geese, rabbits, chickens and goats. The goat got my vote but must admit it was a tough call!

Hi Diane,
Yes it was hard to decide when you have alot of animals. I would be interested to hear about the rabbits and goats. Thanks for your comment and visit. It’s always good to hear from you.

Hi Sara,
I was a little late for voting, but if given my choice, I’d pick the cow. There’s just something about their gentle eyes and that soft spot between them (it begs to be scratched).

Hi Cathy,
I am pleased that you have visited and let me know which animal you would have voted for. Yes cows have beautiful eyes, their eyes and their lovely fluffy clean hair when they are newly born is a joy to behold. Thanks for dropping by and commenting.
