Mesembryanthemums Flowering
I did a seed swop with Linz @ The Pondering Sheep (thanks Linz) and one of the seed varieties she sent me were mesembryanthemums.
My mum loves these so I wanted to have a go at growing them from seed. I must say that they have done really well and I now have a garden full of the sun loving beauties.
One of the attractions of mesembryanthemums is that the flower heads open out in the sunshine. I am pleased to say that they have started flowering and I look forward to watching the orange and red flower heads open up their smily faces as the sun shines this Summer.

Very pretty, Sara. I like the purply centers and the soft tangerine petals.

Looking lovely I have a big bunch of them in my front garden and are a real eye catcher.
Glad you got them growing

Don’t forget to keep deadheading them and they will keep coming and coming. Easy to take cuttings from too. x

Hi Linz,
Thanks so much for these seeds - it’s the first time I have ever grown them from seed and will certainly be doing so again.
