Photograph Of The Month Competition - September’s Winner

The winner of the Farming Friends “Foto” of the Month Competition for September is Laurie @ Miss Flower. A gift will be on it’s way to Laurie in New York very soon, so well done Laurie.

Barn, truck and chicken cratesDenise took this photograph of the barn, truck and chicken crates in Lindsborg, Kansas USA. Denise said in her email, ”It is one of my most favorite photos ever. I remember looking up and thinking to myself, I’ve GOT to get a picture of this!”

 

 

Tractor Ploughing Field In SomersetThis photograph was taken by Leanne in early September and shows a tractor ploughing the neighbouring field in South Somerset.

 

 

Strawberry Crop This photograph was taken by Virginia and shows a strawberry crop and it’s polytunnel supports in Herefordshire near Ross-on-Wye last Summer.

 

 

Basket Of ApplesThis is a photograph sent in by Rebecca from Irish Sally Garden of a basket of September apples picked from Rebecca’s orchard.

 

 

Hand pulling ragwortThis photograph was sent in by Rebecca from Irish Sally Garden. It shows Rebecca’s 3 year old daughter helping to hand pull ragwort out of the goat’s field before it seeds.

 

 

Vineyard In HerefordVirginia took this photograph in July just after her husband finished planting his latest vines in his vineyard in Herefordshire.

 

 

Pattie the hen.This photograph was taken by Lucy @ the Smallest Smallholding and shows Lucy’s hen Pattie perched on the crop of crab apples collected so far this harvest.

 

 

Closeup of Lucy's SunflowerThis photograph is a closeup of the sunflower Lucy from the Smallest Smallholding has currently growing in her garden.

 

 

A local greenhouse visit.This photograph was also taken by Laurie from Miss Flower. The picture shows the local greenhouse that Chris and Laurie visit.

 

 

Wasp nestIt looks like TopVeg have been up close to some wasps to get this photograph of a wasp nest. I hope TopVeg didn’t get stung in the name of photography!!

 

 

Corn FieldThis photograph of the corn field was taken at the beginning of September from Louise @ This Is My Patch’s dad’s back garden which is in Clapham, West Sussex on the edge of the South Downs.

 

 

If you like taking photographs then why not enter our Farming Friends ‘Foto’ Of The Month Competition for October.

The photographs need to have a farming theme and can include the farming landscape, farm animals, farm machinery, farming life or nature and wildlife on and around a farm.

Send your photographs by email keeping the photograph attachment to a size of about 600 x 400 pixels.

Please supply some details about the photograph - the name of the person who took the photograph, when and where it was taken and what is happening in the photograph.
