Photographs Of Newborn Piglets
Here are some photographs of the piglets that were born on Wednesday night.
The photographs were taken on Friday morning, so they are only just over a day old.
These newborn piglets are pure bred British Saddleback piglets.
How cute are they?!
British Saddlebacks newborn piglets Piglets

They are adorable. Since I’ve not been around pigs much, I am curious about something. I read somewhere that even when they are kept in sterile conditions, they still have that hog smell. Do you find that to be true?

Who is the Momma, Cagney or Lacey?
They sure are cute!

Hi Diane, Thank you for visiting and thanks again for the name suggestions. Both Cagney and Lacy are the mothers. The two piglets together and the one on it’s own belongs to Lacy. The third picture is Cagney’s piglets and the fourth is Lacy’s piglets. can you believe they farrowed on the same night - what luck.

Hi Aiyana, Thanks for visiting and commenting. What an interesting question you have asked. I don’t notice that the pigs smell. It tends to be their muck which has quite a potent smell.

Hi Sara, I didn’t realise your newborns were British Saddleback piglets, how sweet they are. I have only ever seen completely pink piglets in the flesh. Did you see Autumnwatch this evening, the wild boarlets (as they are so called) were really sweet too, especially when two of them were having a ruckus! x

Hi Louise,
Yes they are pure bred british saddlebacks and I love the black and white marking. Maybe you should make a visit to our farm for a real look at the piglets in the flesh. I didn’t see the boarlets on Autumnwatch although I only have to go into my barn to see the piglets having a playfight. it’s fun to watch!
Thanks for dropping by and commenting.
