Thanks for your comment. I bet it was fun making your own crisps, but I can imagine it takes a long time.
As a teacher I wanted to explain the process from potato to crisp as many children don't know that crisps are made from potatoes or that potatoes grow in the ground.
Your point about the amount of potato that actually ends up in the crisp packet is a very interesting one - it would probably be frightening to find out the true amount!
